Position Summary:
The Service Engineer completes service and warranty work for customers throughout the Americas, ensuring that all repairs are finished on time and within budget. The position provides a variety of in-house and field services at customer sites, which include startup and commissioning, field troubleshooting and repair, spare parts sales, remote and in-person training, sales support, and similar activities. Additionally, the Service Engineer fulfills administrative responsibilities associated with CRM and ERP systems, such as order acceptance and processing, expense management, forecasting, and preparing periodic management reports and responses to inquiries.
Collaboration with Gasmet’s global service team is essential to ensure alignment with worldwide service practices and to implement programs that support revenue growth, profitability, cash flow, and other business objectives. There are future growth opportunities available through service collaboration for other Nederman Group products. Other duties may be assigned from time to time to help achieve the company’s overall goals and objectives.
In this role you would be a member of post-sale technical support team for customers in the Americas, providing also technical support to the sales team and responsible for providing technical advice and service needed for Gasmet customers to effectively configure, operate, and maintain their products.
Desired Qualifications:
- Technical degree or certification from an education program related to repairing and maintaining electrical and/or mechanical products and systems.
- Experience in similar product lines or industries (e.g., industrial equipment, gas analysis, or technical instruments) is a plus.
- Experience with IFS or similar ERP systems, or willingness to learn. Proficient with Microsoft Office and related software.
- Understanding of stock control and supply chain processes
- Strong customer-facing experience: Ability to handle inquiries, resolve issues, and maintain positive relationships.
- Order and delivery coordination: Experience communicating about purchase orders (POs), deliveries, and invoicing.
- First point of contact skills: Skilled in managing multiple customer interactions professionally and efficiently.
- Quotation and offer preparation: Experience creating and negotiating service offers for customers.
- Ability to schedule service work and manage workloads effectively.
- Time-sensitive task management: Ensuring invoicing and spare part orders are processed promptly.
- Problem-solving and multitasking under pressure. Strong written and verbal communication. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability and willingness to travel throughout North and South America without restriction. Occasional trips to company facilities and events in Europe may also be required.
- Service sales experience and familiarity with managing service contracts, warranties, and installed equipment bases is a bonus
